  1. Last Meeting of the Year (6/4)
What time is it!? Nah, I won't subject you to that song. Summer, however, is just a hop, skip, and a jump away--if all those methods of getting air were finals, that is. But look at it this way: you still have a few days to study! So take a break and come to our quarterly barbecue! And by barbecue, I mean the people who run sunset rec kicked us out and now we're just having a big feast at clubhouse. So this means lots and lots of food! Lots! Don't make me eat it all! There might also be games. So come by for free food and shenanigans! Knudsen 2-222 at 7:30! Food!

  2. Board Games Night (5/28)
What a marvelous night for a moondance! Probably. I haven't actually checked the weather yet. Anywho, we were going to have our Adventure Game tonight, but we ran into some technical issues. (Don't you hate when the mass spectrometer doesn't work?) Then we were going to do Spaceballs the Meeting! And then SPS had a movie night. So now we're playing games! I believe there'll be a few decks of cards, some board games, Cards Against Humanity, and perhaps even a game of Avalon! As usual, there'll be free food and a telescope show after. 7:30 tonight in Knudsen 2-222!

  3. A Presentation and Camping Info! (5/21)
Hey hey hey! It's another exciting UAS meeting! Tonight we'll be having a presentation by Joe Weichman! He's a professor driving in from another college. I believe he also has connections to aerospace and to SEDS as an organization, but don't quote me on that. He says we're in for a treat though, so that should be exciting! There's also the camping trip! If you've not signed a waiver, sign one! If you've not paid, pay! (Unless driving. Though, tell us when you can leave Friday and how many you can fit.) Tell us when you can leave too so that we can plan accordingly! Contact info would be cool too. If camping, bring a sleeping bag, and maybe a change of clothes. As for today's meeting, tonight 7:30, Knudsen 2-222. Free food!

  4. UAS Officer Elections! (5/14)
Did you know that people from Cyprus are called Cypriots? I always thought that made them sound like fruit. Anyhow, tonight are the elections for next year's UAS positions! If you haven't had a chance, there's a google doc outlining the positions. If you cannot make it for whatever reason, shoot me a message or email and I'll make sure we hear what needs to be heard if you want to run. You can run for literally anything and everything. Google doc is here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1tIHVTiADwo770S99FAg3MgGgaYLlS8NOU_a9cLP10vg/ (hopefully this link works, if not go to our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/UCLA.UAS/ and find it there.) Meeting will start at 7:30 with free food as usual. Then elections will happen. Then most likely we'll have time for people from last year to tell people from this year what exactly it is their positions do. Then 9:00 telescope show as usual.

  5. Senior Panel! (5/7)
Hello one, hello two, hello red, hello blue, I bet you thought I was gonna say "hello one, hello all," huh? Well I didn't. Anyhow, today's exciting meeting is the Senior Panel! "Senior Panel? Szilard, that sounds boring! Just a bunch of people talking!" That's where you'd be wrong! They say wisdom comes with age. And since the majority of wisdom comes from college, these people have (on average) 33-300% more wisdom than you! So I'll be asking some questions, but the floor is open for anyone to ask questions! You'll learn about all sorts of things from the grizzled veterans of our physics and astronomy programs, like which classes are cool, how to get research, what people do after college, how to prepare for the GRE, lots of things, really. And as always there'll be free food and a telescope show after. Meeting starts 7:30 in Knudsen 2-222.
